Speaker Biography

Jim Slater was the founder and chairman of Slater Walker, the industrial conglomerate which took the City by storm in the 1960s and 1970s. Following its demise in the 1974/5 bear market, he has been an active professional investor in both shares and property.

Jim is chairman of BioProjects International PLC, which is listed on the Alternative Investment Market and he is currently the Deputy Chairman and a principal shareholder in the AIM-listed gold and mineral mining and development company, Galahad Gold.

Jim is the author of thirty children’s books and several best-selling investment books, including ‘The Zulu Principle’. He also devised Really Essential Financial Statistics (REFS), which is now used by most brokers and bankers as a standard investment reference source.
